LOS ANGELES – The University of Southern California hosted a speaking event last week featuring conservative political commentator Ben Shapiro. During the question and answer period, a student asking Shapiro a question began displaying symptoms of catatonia, a state of psycho-motor immobility and behavioral abnormality manifested by stupor.
“Everything was going great up until this happened. Ben replied to the girl’s question concerning gender and she just stood there speechless, like a statue. She was just staring into space. She didn’t move. After asking her several times if she was ok, paramedics arrived and treated her. It was so weird,” said one of the students who attended the event.
It was later reported that the student had suffered from a catatonic episode and later recovered.
