Neil deGrasse Tyson explains the science behind Trump’s wall

STANFORD – Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson explains the science behind Trump’s wall during a question and answer period at his speaking event last night hosted by Stanford University.

“It is actually very simple.  Matter has various states.  In most circumstances, according to laboratory experiments, a barrier that is made from a solid is more effective than a barrier made from liquid or gas.  In other words, it is more difficult for humans to pass through a solid barrier.  To be successful, they would have to remove the barrier or go around it which requires more energy.  Scientifically, Trump’s wall makes sense,” said Tyson to a student when asked about the efficacy of Trump’s wall.

Many of the students attending the event scoffed at Tyson’s scientific explanation citing their post-modern world-view which rejects the notion of scientific fact.
